Laminate Flooring

Research done for the past 4 weeks.
Here is the supply and install price quoted by various companies.
Supply & install price for reference ( for 700sqft )
If smaller area, should be more expensive.
1) Inovar :  $4.50 psf , malaysia wood, wax
2) Supreme: $3.50 - 4.50 psf, depending on AC rating
3) Evorich: $4.50 psf , never check much.
4) Excel by Mago-Sin: $2.80 psf , china wood, wax
5) Flooroption: $2.80 psf, malaysia wood, wax
6) Vohringer: $4.50, AC4, german wood, wax
Subject to 5-10% wastage charge.
Most probably will try Flooroption. As some may think that tropical wood will be more suitable for Singapore weather....
hmm..of course i will choose the cheapest malaysia wood. :)

11/3/14: called to Flooroption today to confirm and was told that the price is 3.90 psf for AC4. when ask about the 2.80psf, the lady told me that there wasn't any laminate with 2.80 range...then who did i talk to that time? funny....

So conclusion, Excel by Mago Sin will be my choice then! since it is in-between AC3 and AC4.

Update! :

Do not buy from Mago Sin flooring. Tried calling the boss to send people to come my house to repair my "bloated" laminate, and what he (Richard) said was busy busy and busy..called him many times and he could not give me a date to fix the problem!......luckily, i know how to repair myself.
For those of you not familiar with any tools..my advise. do not buy from Mago Sin. you will regret!

buy at your own risk!

Midea sys 3 Air Conditoner

Budget set: SGD$3000
Ideal(intro by fren) Model: Mitsubishi Starmex

Went to GainCity today after hearing from my fren that the pricing there is somehow quite reasonable.
Stepped in, wow..many brands...first thing first...look at the cheapest...which is the Midea.
Have experienced Midea Air Con during my long stay in china long time ago. Good leh.
quiet. don't do cleaning..after yrs still good. Price is $2289 for system 3 inverter with 4 NEA ticks.

Second cheapest is Daikin, $2389. But only 3 NEA ticks. was told that the model is 7 yrs ago.

Then look for the ME Starmex, price is $2990. 4 NEA ticks, annual electricity cost is almost same as midea.

Besides ME, there is the MHI. was wondering whats the diff so raised a few questions to the salesman:

1) whats the diff between ME and MHI?
2) where is it made?
3) how long is the warranty?

Ans:

1) Diff coy provide diff BTU
2) Thailand or asia
3) 1 year and it is advisable for me to purchase the extended warranty (additional 4 yrs) at SGD$388 (if i rem correctly). It is also recommended to do an upgrade on the size of the insulation for the piping at SGD$180 to prevent any condensation formed in the trucking.

Spending so much for 1 yr warranty? No thanks, $2289 for 1 yr warranty seems logical to me.
Same, it is again advisable for me to do a top up for the warranty and insulation. Tempted to do so, but i think i can trust this brand.

BTW, normally those who say this brand CMI also never use before. only hearsay hearsay nia.
$200 vouchers will b given for this purchase also, but have to buy and install before 15th Mar.
so quite a good bargain. almost like $2089 for a system 3 air con.

After back home, checked on the midea website, and realised that Midea Singapore will b giving 6 yrs warranty on the compressor, 2 years on parts, 1 yrs for installation. but the GC sales man did not say anything to me. but rather keep selling the extended warranty, and to contact through them if anything happen to the Air Con...hmm...fishy...

Installation date will be on 15 Mar. Will write a review for this Midea Air Con. Last but not least...this air con has a inbuilt vitamin c filter....
